Work From Home Is Possible!

My heart ached as I drove to work, the tears trickled down my face; I so badly wanted to be home with my son. I could not work away from home. I tried many failed jobs, turned down job offers, but in my heart I knew that I could not leave my babies. So what do you do when you’re facing a mountain of student loan debt, need income, but can’t leave that sweet bundle of joy? Well, I opened home daycare and blog. It is absolute madness about 90% of the time, but I love it. I’m home with my babies, making income, and influencing the world for Christ’s sake.

What’s your passion? What do you want to do? For me, these questions took a couple years to answer. As a newlywed I worked as a bank teller. Once I grew tired of that I returned to school to finish my degree. Spring Arbor University has an amazing adult Ed program to help you finish school while working, parenting, etc. I enrolled in the family life education program knowing that I wanted to help and influence people. Little more than half way through the program I was 9 months pregnant, supposed to do an internship, but just couldn’t. I switched programs and took a break to have baby number 1. I returned a couple months later to finish my degree in organizational management. I finished! But I dreaded going to work and was about due for baby number 2. At this point I began the process to open daycare. I enjoy working with kids, had watched friends’ kids, and was able to be home. But I still had a desire to do more.

Blogging had been on my heart and mind. I am a mother of two, care provider for more, wife, and servant of the Most High.

You don’t have to open up your home to rambunctious toddlers to stay home (unless you’re crazy like me) but you can blog. Join me on my journey through faith, marriage, motherhood, and daycare. If I can do this you can too!

Please leave a comment of what you do! Let’s generate more ideas to enable moms to stay home with their most preciouses!
